Great home and location
The house was beautiful and peaceful. The location and view was what we hoped for. Communication with the owner was fast and friendly. There were only a few minor downsides: the cleaning crew before we arrived did not clean the deck furniture. There was mouse/rat droppings ALL over the wood furniture and wall by the master bedroom as well as spider webs throughout the deck. Inside, anytime we cooked anything on top the stove or inside the stove, the smoke detector would sound off. Very annoying. The master bath toilet would stick anytime used. One couch was previously broken with boards holding the cushions which made it uncomfortable to sit on. Other than those, the house was beautifully designed and decorated. The owner was so easy to talk with.

Thank you so much for the very positive review. Regarding minor downsides, the tiny area with droppings by the chimney on the side deck is from bats. This is one of their way points and we’ve not had any luck house training them. The animals cannot be harmed per law and we sure appreciate their elimination of bugs, especially mosquitos. The area is cleaned after every guest but the bats come daily and that’s what happened in this case.

Bugs (ants, spiders, etc.), animals (raccoons, mice, etc.), and birds (bald eagles, bats, etc.) are a fact of life in the mountains. We prefer they aren’t around or in the cabin. We employ a professional pest control company who frequently sprays for a lot of these pests. They most recently performed preventative spraying in May-2024. The cobwebs were left on the cabin per tech request to help focus where to spray. I apologize that we weren’t timely in removing the webs and the bat droppings before your arrival.

Lakeside cabin
Great location - right across from Big Beak lake and a short walk to The Village, where many restaurants, shops and bars are located. Property Manager was very responsive and accommodated a late check in and early check out with no problem. The cabin itself had everything we needed.

Great property, just one inconvenient rule
We had a very pleasant stay and the property was great and exactly as advertised. The only pushback I would give is that while there is a cleaning fee, the property management has set a rule that the tenants must, not only, take all the trash from the property out, but transport the trash to an offsite location to be dumped. Carrying a bag of trash in my car to another location was pretty inconvenient and not exactly what you expect when you’re paying to stay on vacation, especially if there is a cleaning fee associated. Other than that, everything was fantastic and very smooth. We had a great time.

Thank you for the excellent review. I totally appreciate how you feel about the trash disposal rules and I would probably feel the same. However, as a city Approved Vacation Rental, I have to follow the same Big Bear Lake Good Neighbor Policy that you signed at check-in. One policy rule states renters must "Take Trash to Clean Bear Sites". I recommend you contact the City of Big Bear Lake to lobby for a policy change that meets your thinking.

Wonderful cabin
Our family had a great time staying here. The location is within walking distance to the village. The owner supplied everything we needed such as towels, dishes, soap, shampoo, firewood and even electric blankets on the beds. Our stay was very comfortable and we will stay again.

18 to 88! Two thumbs Up from my youngest daughter (18) to my Dad age 88!
From beginning to end our stay was PERFECT! The cabin was clean, and had everything we needed! The location was beautiful with a lake view, and walking distance to everything we needed. The area was quiet and relaxing. The space was decorated beautifully and thoughtful! The owners even put up a Christmas tree! The only thing, that was minor, was having to pick up the key to the cabin and dropping it off at a location 10 minutes away. But we understand, we had to sign the contract.. other than that it was perfect! Thank you for sharing your property with us, we made beautiful memories!

Best of both worlds
This cabin was a perfect choice for us and it offered the best of both worlds. A quiet retreat when we water rest and relaxation and The Village is a short, 10 minute walk away so shopping, restaurants, music is close by. There is also a bowling alley near by and Big Bear Marina is literally down the street from the house if you’re interested in boating, fishing or jet skiing. Checking in was a breeze as well. We arrived after the management office closed but had been advised to call when we were about 20 minutes away and they had someone waiting to check us in. We opted to rent for an extra day so we did not have to rush to check out by 10am. We are already thinking about when we can go back and who we could bring with us.

Great location but not cleaned well and check in offsite
The location of the house was amazing. I didn’t realize when I booked that they use a property management office that is 15 minutes away from the house which added an extra 30 minutes to our drive. Which may not seem like a big deal but if you have a baby and a toddler it kinda is. I would love to stay again, but the house was not cleaned well. There was droppings from either mice or cockroaches in the kitchen and bathrooms. I can tell the place was not well cleaned because not only were there droppings under the kitchen table, there was also crayons. In the bathroom there was some tissues behind the toilet, droppings all along the walls and even a hairclip left on the ground, so it obviously was not cleaned well. I spend a lot of time on the ground because of having a baby and giving baths, so I noticed all this stuff. If the house is as cleaned well and the check in location was closer I would stay again.

Perfect Location
We loved the location of the cabin with it's beautiful lake view and only minutes to the Village and Snow Summit. My daughter also loved using a sled in the backyard--so fun. The cabin was cozy and kitchen was nicely stocked. The jacuzzi was hot and ready for us to use. We also greatly appreciated the owner accomodating our request to arrive a day later due to the weather/road conditions. The owner was also incredibly helpful when working through a couple things with the management company to make sure all was taken care of for us.

GREAT BIG BEAR HOME!!
We loved our stay and we will be back! The jacuzzi was awesome. The location could not be better. Beautiful lake views. Easy walk to downtown and the bowling barn. Rooms, beds and couches are all so comfortable! The living room offers so much space for lots of people to relax and watch movies etc. The Christmas tree is darling. The big beautiful windows allow you to enjoy the lake views from the couch or dining table. Kids loved sledding in the backyard and across the street at the lake. Washer/dryer worked great. We will be back for sure!

Winter Wonderland Family Trip
Wonderful stay. Property across the street from the lake and very close to the village. Property was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Smart-tv to watch classic movies, spa was wonderful while watching the snow, cabin stocked with useful necessities including phone chargers. Property manager was very responsive to text. Spacious master with king bed, and two additional bedrooms with beds for kids and adults. We will definitely be back.

Just wanted to say Thank you for a nice time with our daughter, son in law and 3 year old grandson last weekend on January 6th and 7th. It was perfect ! We didn't ski this trip so it was nice to walk the village, go to Alpine Slide and just watch football and relax. Perfect for after the holidays. Thank you again! We soo appreciate your place! Great stay for families
There were a couple discrepancies between what we were told vs the welcome booklet in the cabin. The pans had Teflon chipping off, and found it odd that we had to strip the bed ourselves. But overall a great place for family and friends.

Host's response: Thank you for the positive comments and the constructive feedback.

Our management company was purchased by a competitor and has been changing some operational items. One was the request to strip the beds. We didn’t know about this until your comment and then promptly spoke with the company’s management team. They acknowledged this isn’t a good practice for their Big Bear guests and the request has been removed. I apologize for any inconvenience.

You also mentioned a discrepancy in the Welcome Booklet. Please let us know what it is so we can evaluate if a change is warranted.

Love a Good Water View
Every morning, we would lift the blinds to enjoy our view of the lake. It was a great way to start the day. In the evening, we would relax on the rocking chairs or in the hot tub. Could not get a better location for home with its easy walk proximity to the marina and main part of town. Really enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

Decent rental
Overall our stay was nice. We were first timers to Big Bear and found that there were lots of things to do. The property is centrally located and easy to get to all things. I was a little deceived by the pictures that were provided as far as proximity to the lake/marina. I thought it was lake front but found that there was a large house across the street which blocked the view of the actual marina. You could still walk to the water some distance away but definitely not walking to the marina. A short drive if you get there early enough for parking if you plan to do any marina water rentals. The house was cozy, very large master and master bath. Only a couple of issues with the home itself. First, as we walked in for the first time it was 90 degrees in the house and never cooled down below 82 the first night despite have all fans on and opening all windows. There was some sort of cooling happening from the thermostat that I had set to 60 but it NEVER cooled down! The next day we weren’t sure if we should leave all windows open with fans on or lock it all up with the air that had been running. We chose to leave it all open since the air had been running when we got there and it was still hot. The breeze outside was nice so we sat on the porch for most of the nights. We checked the weather before booking and saw that Big Bear is usually in the 80’s this time of year and low 50’s at night. We were hoping for very cool nights since we were coming from extreme heat. This wasn’t the case. I almost booked a hotel to sleep in because it just never got cool in the house at night. We slept with all windows open (even tho I was worried about animals since I’d never been here). I would recommend to the owner to maybe get new windows on the entire front that can open up. I noticed all the windows were upgraded except for those. But again, that’s a pricey fix, but would make a world of difference in comfort in my opinion. The only other issue I had was the master bedroom TV never stayed on when we wanted to watch it while winding down at night. The power cord needs replaced, I kept trying to get it to stay in just the perfect spot to keep the TV on but it would only work for a little bit. After that it would sit and turn off and on repeatedly until I just unplugged it from the TV itself. A minor issue that most probably wouldn’t care about but I like to have some tv time while dozing off. Other than that, the house had EVERYTHING you would need!

We appreciate your feedback on where we can improve to help guests have a better experience in unusually high heat -- happening across the nation. Going forward, we’ll open the windows and turn on the fans on check-in days in order to stem high heat build-up in the cabin. Also, thank you for your alert on the failed master bedroom TV. Unfortunately for you, this TV worked up to the day you checked-in. After your alert in your review, we found it had suffered a motherboard failure. We now have a replacement in process of being delivered. Our pictures were taken from our deck when the lake was higher -- last 12 months it dropped several feet -- but we still enjoy looking at the lake and lake activity while enjoying the cool lake breezes and rocking in our rocking chairs. Since this was your first visit to Big Bear, we suggest a return trip in the Fall: the weather is mild and the mountains show off their autumn color in addition to the other activities you found enjoyable during this trip.

Beautiful home

Yes, the cabin can get very warm on those high-heat days in Big Bear Lake. We strategically place the cabin’s tower fans to pull in the cool lake breezes that help keep the rooms comfortable. Additionally, we like to sit on our shaded decks enjoying the lake view and sipping our iced beverages.

Great value in a perfect location.
The good/great: Location - view of the lake with a wonderful lake breeze and walking distance to Village. Furnishings - multiple fans to keep things cool during our unseasonably warm stay. Kitchen and bathrooms well stocked. comfortable furniture and beds. Ambience - had a true cabin in the woods feel. Property Management - Sharon and her property managers were extremely pleasant, accommodating and easy to work with. The not-so-great: Hot tub - never worked quite right. Either needs some maintenance or better instructions. We could not get it very hot or get the jets to work very well and it was not quite full enough. All of these things could have been user error. These issues did not keep us from using it regularly. Light switches - There was an unusual light switching arrangement which I never did fully figure out. This was only a minor problem but I would recommend adding some labels.

Overall- A+. Great value in a perfect location.

Cabin Owner's Response: Thank you for the positive comments and also the immediate hot tub feedback which allowed me to get same day diagnostic service. Although the technician found the unit in good working order, he said one of two things may have occurred. One, the most common heating issues with this type of hot tub is that the desired temperature was not set correctly. Two, the digital touch pad can set the unit into economy mode thus lowering the temperature for efficiency purposes depending on temp setup. Regardless, I’m creating a more detailed Welcome Booklet on “how to” set the hot tub temp. Note that if you had contacted the provided maintenance number, people would have arrived quickly to resolve any issues you encountered.

ski weekend trip in rustic cabin
The cabin was not as clean and functional as expected. One of the couches was a makeshift setup comprised of undersized pillows and some wood with a blanket thrown over it to hid the contraption. The hot tub stopped working at one point and a toilet overflowed on the first time we tried to use it. When the toilet overflowed, I had the pleasure of cleaning a bathroom floor that I am sure have not been cleaned in months.

Cabin Owner's Response: Thank you for the feedback and we apologize for the inconveniences. Note that if you had contacted the provided maintenance number, people would have arrived quickly to resolve any issues you encountered. Also, note the hot tub is inspected by a spa professional after every guest, whether they used it or not. Perhaps someone in your party accidently touched a control button that caused the temporary outage when they egressed the unit? All bathroom floors are both cleaned and sanitized to Vrbo cleaning standards along with COVID-19 protocol after every guest and are re-inspected the morning before guest check-in. The guests immediately before and after your visit didn’t experience any of the issues you encountered.

Relaxing cabin get away
My family and I had such a wonderful time at this cabin for a long weekend get away. We cooked all our meals and enjoyed the different hikes around the lake. The village is so close we could have walked. It was quiet, relaxing, and the kids enjoyed all the decretive bears around the cabin. They had fun counting all of them a making a game of it. Slice of mountain by the village
Absolutely loved 4 Seasons of Fun! My family and another family wanted a trip into the mountains from the city and this place was perfect! It’s positioned right across from the lake with great views to enjoy from the balcony and inside while hanging in the family room. I don’t think the pictures do it justice for space. There’s a nice big sectional, separate couch and lots of floor space in between that allowed two 1 year olds and a 4 year old run around pointing out all the bears - was perfect. The location was a brisk walk to Big Bear village even with strollers - just have a quick game of ‘chicken’ to cross the street rather than walking to a crosswalk. The house came with dishes, comfortable beds, towels and kitchen essentials to whip up meals. Plus there we’re laundry and dishwasher available if needed. Also has three designated parking spots and a big back yard for games. One dilemma was the hot tub didn’t work while we were there. Wasn’t a big deal and appreciated the quick response from the support team to come take a look very quickly.

Overall LOVED our experience here and looking forward to the next time we can come visit. Great spot for families or a get away with friends. Thank you for opening up your great home, we loved it!

Wonderful get a way in a great location.
4 seasons of fun was a great get away. The cabin was very well stocked with anything you could need. We enjoyed the lake view from the dining table and curling up with the fire under a fleece blanket. The cabin was walking distance to the village and on weekends the horse drawn carriage delighted us by coming by. We felt very at home and comfortable, would love to come back some day.

Birthday Getaway
The cabin was just as owner described. The cabin is very accessible, well furnished and decorated just as one would expect of a mountain getaway. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of room to put away any kitchen supplies you may bring. The livingroom had a spectacular view of the lake which was right across the street. We enjoyed being so close to the marina because we reserved a pontoon boat for Saturday afternoon. The kids enjoyed spending time in the hot tub while the adults sat out on the porch and relaxed. The perfect way for us to celebrate our birthdays. Would definitely recommend this cabin and we look forward to booking a retreat here again soon, hopefully for longer than a weekend.

Short getaway.
Wonderful property and location once we realized how close to the Pine Knot area that we were. Lake views, incredibly well stocked property, and an amazing volume of helpful information. The owners have put a lot of effort into making the experience the best it can be. The price is a touch high,, but you get what you pay for in accommodations, utensils, and conveniences.

Great place to celebrate a special family event!
This was a charming and well kept rustic home right across the street from the lake. The house was extremely well equipped and stocked with every kitchen item needed as well as paper products, coffee filters and disinfecting wipes. It was very clean and the best part is that it is walking distance to just about anything (except the major grocery stores which were only a couple miles away) so we really just parked the cars for the whole week and walked everywhere. We were celebrating my grandson's 1st birthday and it was really the perfect place for a family vacation. The only negative was that there was no air conditioning and Big Bear was having a hot spell and the living room was often as hot as 88 degrees. They supplied a lot of fans but it was just not enough to battle the unusual heat they were having. However, I doubt that would stop me from coming here again...thank you Sharon for sharing your home!

Spacious, great location
Plenty of room for two families to share (7 total). Good sized kitchen and bedrooms, the Great Room is really comfortable.

The location's walking distance to the Village which has lots of restaurants, and to the Marina. We loved the hot tub. The hot tub is on the front porch, but the street is quiet and since it's elevated, there's plenty of privacy. The property was clean and well stocked, other than toilet paper (which is in the listing instructions, but which I didn't notice ahead of time). Markets are close by so it wasn't a problem.Spacious, great location.

Excellent value!!!
Location was amazing. Super close to everything. Sunsets were awesome. My only request is that a portable AC unit be put in one of the closets so it can be used in the living room during warmer than usual days.

Oh yeah...and buy a new, lighter, hot tub cover...the current one is cruddy and heavy as heck!

Purchase new patio chairs too. The sun just degrades those plastic chairs.

Such a wonderful place to stay AGAIN!
Went out of our way to look at where we had stayed before because it was just the perfect place. The location can't be beat. So close for our family and daughter and family with an almost 1 year old so we could walk to the village every day.....coffee, brunch, watch a Nascar race, and of course do a little shopping! I believe people underestimate how much communication goes between an owner and a rental company to have a vacation rental. (especially during Covid). Bottom line: They make it seamless! Have fun....enjoy the coziness of the cabin, the jacuzzi, and the view from those windows!

Exceptional stay!
The house was perfect in every way.. the pictures posted were not deceiving when we arrived the house was impeccable, with all the necessary items. We felt so at home. It was super comfortable and clean and just “Home”. I would recommend it to family and friends anytime. I actually already looked to book it in February. Everything was clean and well supplied. Best experience ever. Loved the big back yard I didn’t have to leave the house to enjoy a good time at snow backyard did it.

Great place to stay!
This was a great 3 bedroom, 2 bath cabin. Very close to town and the lake. We walked back and fourth all 4 days and it was great and easy to find. There is lake view, but there are a couple houses right in front of the cabin. But you can still see the lake so that was nice! We'd come back for sure! Thanks!

Cozy Getaway
My husband and I escaped city life for the mountains for our 25th anniversary. Our stay at the 4 Seasons of Fun was relaxing, quiet, and so cozy! The cabin is centrally located, we walked to the marina and the village each day. We cooked amazing dinners in the fully stocked kitchen, and relaxed by the fireplace each night. I will definitely come back here and next time we will come during wintertime.

Great location, great layout, peaceful, and well stocked
Loved staying here we will be back. Only downside is having to drive to the office to pick up the keys. Highly recommended installing passcode lock instead for easier check in. Otherwise this was walkable to the marina, etc.

Cozy Cabin
Enjoyed three nights in the well furnished cabin. Nice view of the lake. Great location. Close to the marina and village. Will definitely want to stay there again and would highly recommend it to friends.

Big Bear Escape
This property has a great location close to village and lake view. House is clean and well maintained. It was nice that soap and shampoo was provided even though we brought our own. Kitchen was great with everything you would need for your stay. First night we noticed a bat was flying in the house, however after calling maintenance man and searching entire house we never found it or seen it after it's friendly visit. ??? Not sure where it went. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return in the future.

Unfortunate cancelation after first night of four night reservation.
The location was good if you intend to tour the lake or do other activities from the marina. The hot tub was on the front porch which is about 20 feet from. and ten feet above the street. No privacy. If you want location and do not spent a lot of time in the house it's ok. It's well cared for, and was clean for an older property. We did have an issue of finding a few insects in the bedding which were identified as ticks by the property management as ticks (from pictures I emailed and by their representative that came to look) . We opted to leave after the first night. They did refund the fee for the next three booked nights.

Your comment about our enviable central location to Big Bear activities has been shared by hundreds of prior guest groups as well.

Your feedback highlights the spa -- and in that regard -- please know that it’s one of the most positive commented upon cabin features. Guests continually say they love relaxing in the warn water while enjoying the lake and mountain views through the privacy lattice-work. Spa-time is one of my families’ favorite de-stressing activities when we stay at the cabin.

We’re happy to pass along your comment about the cabin being well-cared for and clean to our property management team who spends considerable time cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing everything in the cabin including all bedding. These actions follow Vrbo COVID-19 guidelines. For example, we allow three days of non-rental between guests in order for any potential virus droplets to settle and be removed plus these cleaning actions occur the day before a guest arrives. We are committed to guest safety!

It’s unfortunate you found a bug during your brief stay. I understand this was your first time staying in the Big Bear Lake area. On the one hand, bugs (ants, spiders, etc.), animals (raccoons, mice, etc.), and birds (bald eagles, bats, etc.) are a fact of life in the mountains. On the other, we don’t want them around or in the cabin. We employ a professional pest control company who frequently sprays for a lot of these pests. They most recently performed preventative spraying in Aug-2020. No bugs were found in the cabin at that time nor were any seen during cleaning and on inspection walk-thru the morning before your arrival. We requested the pest control company re-inspect the cabin a day after your departure. They could not find any bugs in the cabin and they commented that your photos showed a “tick”. They also confirmed that ticks cannot live at Big Bear Lake due to the high altitude. You mentioned you found a tick on your jacket which leads us to believe you brought the tick up the mountain and into the cabin on your clothes.

We had a perfect holiday here, the scenery here is really amazing.There are things you can't experience in the city that I would recommend to my friends.

Big Bear Long Weekend
Very Nice; good location. Just two things: the AC does not work well; the outdoor furniture could use some cushions. Otherwise we had a great time and so did the kids.

Pure relaxation
Our stay here was absolutely lovely. The cabin is VERY clean, well stocked, and comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and the lake views are gorgeous. It’s close to everything Big Bear has to offer. We felt right at home and can’t wait to come back!

Best rental experience!
We have been coming to Big Bear annually, and this has been our best rental experience by far. The owner was very communicative from the beginning, sending detailed calendars and “things to do” lists before our arrival. The property management company continued the hospitality. We were greeted by a goody basket filled with essentials (and non-essentials) we may have forgotten - toothbrushes, deodorant, chips, coloring books, etc. The property location is fantastic. The short walk to the village, and lake views from the hot tub cannot be beat at this price! We will definitely be looking to stay again.

Fantasia location
This is a spectacular cabin. The layout is very spacious and easily accommodated our family of 4 plus another couple. Everything from kitchen and bathrooms to DVD collection was well stocked. The highlight is the location. Walk across the street to the lake, a few blocks to the town mainstreet and a block from the bowling barn and several great restaurants. We would likely stay again for another big bear getaway.
